Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop star, is one who was able to transcend over from country music to mainstream culture, and has become an iconic figure in the pop culture. Swift also took on the entire globe through her music. Swift left her country roots as if they were just a second skin revealing that she was perhaps the savviest popular singer/songwriter in her generation one that could tap into the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. This was evident in her early hits including the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out the person she really was, and in the process finding a mass audience. The album ended up with a lot of legs not only in the U.S. where it racked up six platinum singles thanks to Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success with Australia, U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago, consolidated her prior successes, propelling the singer into superstardom. She grew in popularity throughout her subsequent three albums: Red (2012), 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift had now established herself in an industry she felt was hers to be. As she cut her style to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore and Evermore but she was still on top. It was a position that was confirmed through re-recordings of her previous catalog, as well as Midnights, her synth-heavy chart-topping 2022 album.
