Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen was born 6 May 1964. He has acted as Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral election candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock) as well as the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was awarded the Reumert Prize of Honour in the year 2011. At the age of 27, he enrolled at National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from the school in 1995. Apart from his role in The Killing, [1] was also a part of Borgen III, a Danish drama series that was critically well-received. He also had a major role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock where he played the blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television series House of Cards he played the President of Russia. He won an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his role in Danish drama Herrens Veje. The show aired in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm
