Lowell started acting in the movie Dangerously Close followed by a small part in the Robin Williams film Club Paradise. [4] She went on to play roles, including co-starring as Bond girl Pam Bouvier in the James Bond movie Licence to Kill (1989) and, starting in 1996, as assistant district attorney Jamie Ross for two seasons on the TV drama Law & Order, a character she reprised in 2005 for a guest role in the spinoff series, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and later on in the original series in 2022, when it was relaunched for the 21st season. In the immediate time before landing that role, however, she had become frustrated with her acting career . She had applied to study documentary filmmaking at New York University. [4] In the mid-2000s the actress stopped acting. Lowell was able to lend her voice and a resemblance to Lowell as she reprised her Licence to Kill character in 007 Legends. The actress returned to TV in 2018, and was on Blue Bloods as a guest. [7][8] Personal life Lowell was married three times. Her first husband was fashion photographer John Stember, to whom she was married from 1984 until 1988. [9][10] From 1989 to 1995, she was married to actor Griffin Dunne. She has a daughter named Hannah. [citation needed] Lowell became engaged to actor Richard Gere in November 2002,[11] following the birth of their son Homer James Jigme Gere, who was born in February 2000. Two years later, after eleven years of marriage, they split in September 2013. They were incarcerated for three years in New York Supreme Court divorce process.
